Terms of Service

Last updated: March 23, 2026

Article 1 — General Provisions

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the mobile application "komoriba" (こもりば) and its associated websites and services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Mugen Studio Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

By using the Service, you ("User" or "you") agree to be bound by all provisions of these Terms.

If you are a minor, you must obtain consent from your parent or legal guardian before using the Service. By using the Service, a minor is deemed to have obtained such consent.

In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions of these Terms, the Japanese version shall prevail.

Article 2 — Definitions

  1. "Account": The identification information assigned to a User for use of the Service. An Account is automatically created upon first launch of the application and may be linked to an external account (such as Google or Apple) through methods specified by the Company.
  2. "Crystals": Virtual points used within the Service. Crystals are classified as either "Free Crystals" (earned through in-app activities) or "Paid Crystals" (purchased through the Store).
  3. "Komoriba Content": Digital content such as rooms, visuals, and background music provided within the Service.
  4. "Subscription": The monthly auto-renewing plan known as "Komoriba Supporter."
  5. "Mokumoku Session": The focus session feature provided by the Service.
  6. "Store": The Apple App Store or any other platform through which the Service's application is distributed.

Article 3 — Accounts

  1. The Service automatically creates an Account upon the first launch of the application. Registration of an email address or other personal information is not required.
  2. The Company may offer the ability to link your Account with an external account such as a Google account or Apple ID. If your Account is not linked to an external account, your Account information is tied solely to your device.
  3. If the application is uninstalled (deleted) without linking your Account to an external account, access to the Account will be lost, and all associated data—including Crystal balances, purchased content, and session history—cannot be recovered.
  4. Users are responsible for managing their own devices and the application. The Company assumes no liability for data loss resulting from loss of access to an Account.

Article 4 — Description of the Service

  1. The Service provides the following features:
    • Mokumoku Sessions (focus sessions)
    • Earning and spending Crystals
    • Browsing, purchasing, and sharing Komoriba Content
    • Subscription plans (Komoriba Supporter)
    • Other features as added by the Company from time to time
  2. Certain features of the Service may integrate with your device's Screen Time or app-restriction functionalities. Use of these features requires that you grant the necessary permissions in your device settings.

Article 5 — Crystals

5.1 Nature of Crystals

  1. Crystals are virtual points usable only within the Service. They do not constitute legal tender, electronic money, cryptocurrency, or any other form of property.
  2. There are two types of Crystals:
    • Free Crystals: Earned through Mokumoku Session rewards, login bonuses, Subscription benefits, and other methods.
    • Paid Crystals: Purchased through in-app purchases via the Store.
  3. When Crystals are spent, Free Crystals are consumed first; any remaining amount is deducted from Paid Crystals.

5.2 Earning Crystals

  1. Users may earn Crystals through completing Mokumoku Sessions, login bonuses, Subscription benefits, and other methods determined by the Company.
  2. The amount of Crystals awarded for Mokumoku Sessions is calculated based on session duration and other criteria determined by the Company. The Company reserves the right to change these criteria without prior notice.

5.3 Using Crystals

  1. Users may use Crystals to purchase Komoriba Content and conduct other in-Service transactions as determined by the Company.
  2. Content acquired through Crystals is linked to the User's Account and may not be transferred or sold to third parties.

5.4 No Refunds or Conversion

  1. Crystals (whether Free or Paid) cannot be exchanged, refunded, or converted into cash or any other form of consideration, regardless of the reason.
  2. Refunds for Paid Crystal purchases are subject to the refund policies of the applicable Store (e.g., Apple App Store). The Company does not process refunds directly.
  3. If access to an Account is lost due to app deletion or any other reason, any remaining Crystal balance will be forfeited and cannot be restored or compensated.

Article 6 — Subscription (Komoriba Supporter)

6.1 Plan Details

  1. Komoriba Supporter is a monthly auto-renewing subscription.
  2. Subscription benefits include the following (the Company reserves the right to modify benefits):
    • Double Crystal rewards for Mokumoku Sessions
    • Monthly bonus Crystal grant
    • Access to Supporter-exclusive Komoriba Content

6.2 Purchase, Renewal, and Cancellation

  1. Subscription purchases and payments are processed through the Store.
  2. The Subscription will automatically renew under the same terms unless the User turns off auto-renewal through the Store's settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  3. To cancel (stop auto-renewal), please use the subscription management screen in your Store settings. Cancellation cannot be performed directly within the app.
  4. After cancellation, Subscription benefits remain available until the end of the current billing period.

6.3 Content After Cancellation

  1. Supporter-exclusive Komoriba Content acquired during the Subscription period will remain in the User's Account and continue to be accessible after cancellation.
  2. However, the double Crystal reward for Mokumoku Sessions and the monthly bonus Crystal grant will cease upon expiration of the billing period.

6.4 Pricing

  1. Subscription pricing follows the Store's displayed prices, which may vary by country, region, and Store policies.
  2. If the Company changes the Subscription price, Users will be notified through the Store's notification mechanisms.

Article 7 — Purchase of Paid Crystals

  1. Paid Crystals are purchased through in-app purchases via the Store.
  2. Payment is processed through the payment method registered with the User's Store account. The Company does not directly handle payment processing.
  3. Displayed prices are based on localized pricing provided by the Store for each region.
  4. Crystals will be credited after the Store's purchase confirmation process is complete. There may be a brief delay before Crystals appear in your balance.

  3. The Company may use content generated or shared by Users through the Service's sharing features to the extent necessary for operating, improving, and promoting the Service.

Article 10 — Changes, Suspension, and Termination of the Service

  1. The Company may change, add, or discontinue all or part of the Service without prior notice. However, the Company will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice for changes that significantly affect Users.
  2. The Company may temporarily suspend the Service in the following cases:
    • System maintenance, inspection, or updates
    • Force majeure events such as natural disasters or power outages
    • Other circumstances where suspension is operationally unavoidable
  3. If the Service is terminated, the Company will provide reasonable advance notice. The Company has no obligation to refund or compensate any remaining Crystal balances upon termination of the Service.

Article 11 — Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  3. If the Company is liable for damages to a User due to reasons attributable to the Company, such liability shall be limited to the total amount paid by the User to the Company in connection with the Service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply in cases of the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 12 — Suspension and Restriction of Use

Users represent and warrant that they are not, and will not in the future be, members of or affiliated with organized crime groups (boryokudan), their members, quasi-members, affiliated organizations, corporate extortionists (sokaiya), political racketeers, or any other anti-social forces as defined under Japanese law.
  2. If the Company determines that a User falls under any of the above categories, the Company may suspend the User's access to the Service and invalidate their Account without prior notice.

Article 14 — Notices

  1. Notices from the Company to Users may be delivered through in-app notifications, push notifications, postings on the Service's website, or any other method the Company deems appropriate.
  2. Users may control the receipt of push notifications through their device settings. However, disabling push notifications may result in the User not receiving important service-related announcements.

Article 15 — Amendments to These Terms

  1. The Company may amend these Terms as necessary.
  2. Amended Terms shall take effect upon being posted within the Service or on the website.
  3. If a User continues to use the Service after the Terms have been amended, the User shall be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
